Striker returns to Spain squad for friendly versus Chile

Vicente Del Bosque recalled Fernando Torres to the Spain squad for the international friendly versus Chile at Villarreal on Wednesday November 19, kick-off at 22:00 hours (CET). The Liverpool number ‘9’, who has played in his club’s last two games (against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League and Tottenham in the Carling Cup), was substituted early in the first-half of Spain’s World Cup qualifier win in Brussels. A scan confirmed that Fernando Torres had suffered a tear in his right hamstring, an injury which kept the forward on the sidelines until the Premier League clash versus WBA last weekend.
